AlwaysOn is excited to announce the 2010 OnHollywood 100 Top Private Companies list. Disruptive technology is forcing big changes in Hollywood: new contracts, new genres, new stars. As the behemoth industry steps into the digital era, entertainment execs will be paying even closer attention to the global Silicon Valley-especially the startups that are writing the rules and creating the tools for the digital entertainment age. This year's list comprises both domestic and international private companies pioneering change in digital entertainment.

The AlwaysOn editorial team, along with partners at Manatt, Morgan Stanley, the Blackstone Group, KPMG, Silicon Valley Bank, Sonnenschein, and Bridge Bank, as well as industry experts across the globe, scoured the entrepreneurial community to identify the top 100 private companies that are taking old notions of creating, distributing, marketing, and selling entertainment and forging solutions that will lead to industry shake-up and huge value-creation opportunities.

The OnHollywood 100 winners were selected from more than a thousand domestic and international technology companies nominated by investors, bankers, journalists, and entertainment industry insiders. The AlwaysOn editorial team conducted a rigorous three-month selection process to finalize the 2010 list.

"When you review the OnHollywood 100 class of 2010, you will see that we have come a long way since music sharing sites like Napster and Kazaa began disrupting the entertainment world," says Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn.
