Batteries are not the only way we may be storing electrical energy.

Although they are not batteries per se, supercapacitors (or ultracapacitors) also are an energy storage system and can be used in lieu of, or to complement, batteries and flow batteries. I think it would have been wise to include supercapacitor companies such as EEstor and Maxwell in your list of early stage battery firms.

I was not aware of you or your forum until today, and it seems you'll become one of my favorites, since EVs are my main interest.

Thanks.

I am a missionary in Africa looking for a smallish system to generate 220/240 50cycle electricity for village or single house/church use. Thinking not as an American but 3rd worldish the power needs of a rural African village would only be in the 50-100KW range and single house 100-200 watts.
Any less expensive ideas that are VERY easy to maintain and last a long time for the cost? I have extensive knowledge of solar panel/lead acid battery/ invertor use and lead acid batteries DO NOT last in the African heat more than 2-3 years and this makes them unacceptably too expensive!
Blessings!!!---mike
